You do not need to have any previous experience with mindfulness or meditation in order to complete this training.

What technology do I need?

The sessions are delivered via on demand video and zoom calls. You will need a high speed internet connection and a device to watch the videos. A webcam for calls is recommended but not required.

Can sessions be adapted for different year levels?

The information in this training is for general teaching of mindfulness and meditation techniques across all age groups. At the end of this training you will be able to lead mindfulness and meditation sessions for at any year level. Specific year-level appropriate meditation content can be found in Mindful Classrooms, our digital blackboard program designed for classroom delivery.

Is there any research showing the effectiveness of your program?

In partnership with Curtin University we have completed a pilot study of a whole school mindfulness program conducted at two primary schools. The conclusion was “The School A class, specifically, saw significant improvements in total difficulties, conduct problems, hyperactivity, peer problems, prosocial behaviour, functional impact, emotional suppression, school connectedness and engagement, positive mental wellbeing, inhibitory control and attention, as well as daily focus and calmness. School B also saw significant improvements, specifically in total difficulties, emotional problems, hyperactivity, prosocial behaviour, functional impact, school connectedness and engagement, as well as daily focus and calmness. And although both schools clearly benefited from the intervention, the School A class seemed to experience a larger positive impact”
